Monthly Video: Where do we even begin...
A creative question we discovered while Maia was rescuing her contractor.
We’re gonna start where it starts. This month’s creative assignment is all about identifying beginnings:
Think about where you want your story— the one you are writing, creating or living— to start. The seeds you plant help determine what will grow. Experiment with different seedlings, then get intentional about which you want to water.
See the video or audio below for more.
Also included in the recording are three other tidbits:
1- A harrowing story from the ongoing upheaval at Maia’s property;
2- A moment of gratitude for those of you who took last week’s poll. If you didn’t get a chance to weigh in on the direction of our How To Write a Novel road trip, you can do so HERE; and
3- A reminder: Next month we will be announcing a date, and gathering LIVE for our first quarterly Q&A/coffee-talk with our Mid-Life Maserati Level members. Upgrade your subscription today to access four creative, collaborative talks each year.

such an interesting perspective. It did really make me go back and reread my first 100 pages with those points in mind. Did they reflect the literary goals of my book and grab the interest for that direction? I have a sneaking suspicion my attachment to it might get in the way of clear answer but I hope I will let myself 'hear' if and where those pages should go under a huge metamorphisis as my characters grow and plots continue. I am constantantly 'tweaking'.. it's almost obsessive. i dont think I'm a very linear writer... i sort of grow with the flow. Do you think the 'start' has more clarity at the editing stages? or is because I dont have that kind of clarity my writing is destined to aimlessly wander even though I have am 'final chapter' in mind?
Did you say you're actually moving to Edinburgh, Scotland Maia? How fab! I'm based in Scotland too (I'm from here). I'll look forward to seeing what you might create inspired by the lands here (if I heard right and you're actually moving!).
